a journey through my year through my lens
very striking - how did you do the background?
My thoughts exactly - Cool photo! What is the background?
The way this photo turned out fascinates me. I put the kiwi on a toothpick and held it up by a white door frame. Part of the frame was in the light and the other half was shaded. I don't like to alter my photos much once they are on the computer, but when I increased the contrast, the effect was so dramatic that I left it this way. Then I erased the little bit of the toothpick that could still be seen and flipped it to be horizontal. To me, it looks so abstract and almost fake, like I got out my construction paper, magazines and scissors and did a little project... :)
Laura - thanks, the explanation makes the image even more intriguing. I look forward to seeing more pictures with your door frame background!!
